Birgir V. Óskarsson receives an Outstanding Student Paper Award

Birgir achieved an Outstanding Student Paper Award at the 2012 AGU Fall Meeting for his poster presentation titled:

V33B-2869 The architecture of tholeiitic lava flows in the Neogene flood basalt piles of eastern Iceland: constraints on the mode of emplacement: Óskarsson, B.V. and Riishuus, M.S.

The Outstanding Student Paper Awards are awarded to promote, recognize and reward undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students for quality research in the geophysical sciences. It is a great honor for young scientists at the beginning of their careers and the process relies entirely on volunteer judges. Typically the top 3-5% of presenters in each section/focus group are awarded an OSPA.

The award is a recognition of Birgir's dedicated work and excellent presentation skills.
